Welcome to The Century House. The hotel is located just a few miles away from Albany International Airport (ALB). Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the airport. The Century House is A Clarion Hotel in the Capital District. No matter where you need to go, The Century House is just minutes away. This makes it an excellent place to stay, overnight or long term. There are 68 amazingly appointed rooms, suites, and apartments for longer stays. Enjoy cable, free high speed internet, climate control, and your own private bath when you stay at The Century House. Family owned and operated, the hotel is committed to making sure you have a relaxing stay. Each morning, you will enjoy complimentary country breakfast. You can follow up with a workout at the fitness area or a trip down the nature trail. Feel free to play a game of tennis or spend some time at the outdoor pool. Later on, visit the Federal-style Tavern for dining. The story at The Century House began in 1790. The Frederic Roff family was renting land from the Van Rensselaer family. When they stopped paying suddenly, the body of Peter Roff was found shortly after. The Van Rensselaers were sending a message. In 1842, the family suffered financially and ended up selling much of their land. A farmhouse was designed and built by Mrs. Ernie Roff, who was upset with her husband at the time for his unfaithfulness. The land ended up becoming a working farm, which was purchased by James and Dorothy O'Hearn. This is when The Century House came to life. The O'Hearn family earned a great reputation by serving their guests downstairs from where they were living. These areas became the North and Federal dining rooms here at The Century House. Two more dining rooms were built since then, as well as two large ballrooms and finally the Hotel. Currently, guests enjoy the top notch facilities while still experiencing the great history.
