Sleep which days?
The English Garden Bed and Breakfast is located in Schenectady in the very center of the Historic Stockade District. The hotel was built in 1775 by rich fur traders. Even George Washington is believed to have slept in this home in the early days!
The English Garden was at first a Federal home and the Victorian architecture was added later, in the 1800's. All over the home there are fine antiques to enjoy. The Ball Room (Federal Style) and Tea Room offer a place to host events like dinner parties or intimate weddings.
The Tea Room has preserved its original plank flooring and wood beams from 1775. The guests can find many hidden features or nooks and crannies all over the 5,000 square foot home. The host can supply linens, silverware, flowers and other items to accommodate your budget.
Thanks to wireless Internet, cable TV and other facilities our Inn is a perfect accommodation for those visiting the area for work or 'working vacations'. Business guests and professionals enjoy staying in our hotel during the week.
